Head of Rehabilitation – Berkshire – The Injured Jockeys Fund

Job Description
Purpose
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY in a unique rehabilitation setting to provide strong strategic, professional and clinical leadership across the IJF rehabilitation and fitness teams including physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Responsibilities
• Work with the CEO to develop and expand the overall operational and strategic rehabilitation strategy of the charity.
• Lead a small team of HIGHLY SPECIALISED employed and self- employed clinical
experts across two sites (one in Lambourn, West Berkshire and the other Malton,
North Yorkshire) setting the standards for rehabilitation services delivered by the
Fund and ensuring that the highest possible standards of care are delivered to all.
• Co-ordinate and provide support, CPD and supervision services to the team.
• Facilitate effective communication and team working between employees of all disciplines.
• Implement & ensure ongoing monitoring of the standard of treatment provided.
• Ensure compliance with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes.
• Ensure all clinical records are accurately maintained and conform to all legal requirements.
• Lead all areas of future and on-going Service development.
• Work closely with the CEO and Finance Manager to set annual budgets and review accordingly.
• Work closely with the CEO and Finance Manager to assess business risk and to develop continuity planning.

Skills
• In depth understanding of rehabilitation best practice gained as a practitioner with
many years experience.
• Experience of working in a high performance sporting environment.
• Confident communicator, highly collaborative and able to command respect
amongst colleagues.
• Excellent clinical leadership, assessment and treatment skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage teams remotely.
• Interest in and general awareness of the Horseracing Industry and the working patterns
and demands placed upon jockeys.
• Able to drive and support continuous professional development.

Reporting to the IJF CEO this position is full time and is to be based at Oaksey House, Lambourn.
