Head of Education / Executive Head Teacher – RNIB – Coventry

Location: Coventry – with some travel to London.

RNIB is well established in the education field and has been running schools since 1918. RNIB Specialist Learning Trust is a multi-academy trust. Since opening our first academy, our aim has been to develop a family of academies across the UK which are focussed on providing specialist first-class teaching and learning for their pupils. To ensure we continue achieving this aim we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader in education to provide strategic and operational leadership and to develop new opportunities.

As Head of Education / Executive Head Teacher you will provide line management to Head Teachers and act as the lead officer for RNIB Specialist Learning Trust. You will pursue opportunities to develop ‘Outreach’ services and act as the strategic lead for the development of education services across RNIB Pears School, Three Spires Academy, Sunshine House and across the wider RNIB (working with the Eden Academy in respect of Sunshine House). You will also support the Managing Director of RNIB places to develop and implement proposals for RNIB Group’s wider role in respect of services to blind and partially sighted children, young people and families.

For this pivotal role you will be well networked in the education field, offering a successful record in developing business. Your experience will have been gained as a Head Teacher or an equivalent senior level role within a school environment and you will have a good understanding of the needs of children and young people with SEND.
