Senior Leader Position, Leadership Development Programme – The Future Leaders Trust – England-wide

Lead a challenging school within 3 years.

The Future Leaders Programme 2016

Apply by 11/1/2016, intensive leadership development during summer 2016, start as a Future Leader from September 2016

Could you lead a challenging school?

We are looking for leaders who will be ready for headship within three years.

Secondary leaders should have SLT experience. Primary leaders should be able to demonstrate significant whole-school responsibility where they do not have SLT experience. This could include leading a core subject, being a SENCO or another role that impacts on pupils across the school.

The programme

Future Leaders is a leadership development programme for those who want to eradicate educational disadvantage, and have the talent and commitment to become headteachers of challenging schools within three years.

What does the programme entail?

The Future Leaders programme includes:

Intensive leadership development during summer 2016
Ongoing mentoring and coaching from our pool of experienced headteachers and executive coaches
Visits to exemplary schools across England
Career development and guidance to enable you to reach headship within three years
Support from the growing network of over 500 Future Leaders across England

You will be required to be in or take up a senior leadership position in a school that meets our eligibility criteria (this could be your current school if it meets the criteria). Whilst being mentored by one of our experienced Leadership Development Advisers, you will be supported to undertake a focused ‘Impact Initiative’ delivering real and sustainable change in your school.

Our expectation is that you will reach headship of a challenging school within three years. This is not something we expect you to achieve alone however, and you will be enabled at every stage by us and by your fellow Future Leaders.

There is no upfront cost to participants.
