We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join our successful school.
The Broxbourne School is an 11 – 18, co-educational, friendly and heavily over-subscribed all ability school of 1259 pupils with 231 A-level students. We are situated just north of the M25 close to the train station with a fast service to London and Cambridge.
The school provides an excellent academic education within a caring and supportive environment. The school has been graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted. “Every student is spurred on to achieve their best because leaders and teachers have high expectations and aspirations for all”. “Teachers have very strong relationships with students who, as a result, are engaged and motivated to try their best. This creates a very positive climate for learning” (Ofsted November 2013).
In 2015, 78% of pupils achieved 5 or more higher grades including English and maths with 90% achieving A*-C in English and 81% achieving A*-C in maths. Our A-level points score per entry was 231 and A-level points score per student was 911.
Computer Science is popular in the school with 138 pupils currently taking the ICT Cambridge National Certificate. The department plans to introduce GCSE Computer Science from September 2016 and the successful applicant will be able to support the implementation of this exciting addition to the curriculum. The school is committed to providing teachers with excellent resources, clerical support, LSA support, a disciplined environment and professional development. The school is committed to continuing professional development and will support teachers wishing to complete a Masters in Education. The school also operates an accelerated pay progression for exceptional teachers.
