We are seeking a graphic designer to work across media to join us.
We are looking for an articulate, confident and very handy-with-type designer who is enthusiastic to design visuals across different media: print, packaging, brand identity, and projects for screens and devices.
We founded Sam as designers and engineers to change the way people understand and use technology. We’re fascinated by turning the intangible into something physical and created Sam to bring delightful interactions to everyone.
develop new graphical stories in line with brand values and existing product language
create all the visual material that we need to communicate
develop assets, projects, products and interactions based on design and marketing briefs
produce concept renders and presentations
document work through video and photography
develop new graphical stories that inspire people to use our products
art direct photography, video and illustration
work to develop our brand materials
design beautiful and engaging support materials for product launches
be able to negotiate in a clear-thinking way all the needs of the different teams in the company -support marketing in developing Sam Labs’ network of trusted creative partners (creative agencies, freelancers etc)
Desired skills and qualifications:
BA in graphic design (minimum), new media (or professional equivalent)
fluency with Adobe Creative Suite
be able to produce accurate artwork for print and screen (including typesetting and proofreading)
have excellent communication skills
work to deadlines and understand budgets
intolerant of the mediocre
have an ear for language and an eye for detail
a good sense of humour and the ability to translate it graphically
We work pretty hard and your thoughts and ideas are likely to be challenged by everyone in the team, including Durrell in design, Kevin in software, Cyrille in operations, and Joachim in execution. At the same time Chiara and James will try to get people to do sports, Tim will make sure you can have a go at board games and Giulio & Nikolaj will give us plenty of new music to listen to.
As a young company, the best way to fare here will be by forming bonds with other employees (who come from completely different disciplines to yours), take initiative to pursue your instincts and ideas, and to drive the company forward.
