SEN Teaching Assistants (2 posts) – Beech Grove Primary School

to commence as soon as possible, pending notice periods.
We are looking for two teaching assistants to work in our school to support pupils with special educational needs.
Post 1: is working 1:1 with a child in Year 5 with autistic spectrum disorder. The position is fixed term to cover a maternity leave.
Post 2: is working with individual pupils, either on a 1:1 basis or as part of a small group, to support the teacher in meeting the children’s SEN needs. This is a permanent post.
(Please note, we are in the process of setting up after school provision so there is likely to be an opportunity to take on an additional post working as part of this team).
You will be working closely with the class teacher, phase leader and our SENCo to secure high quality provision and good outcomes for our pupils with SEN.

The ideal candidates will:
– Have experience working as a teaching assistant with primary age pupils OR a graduate with an interest to go into teaching
– Have at least a Grade C in GCSE or O-Level qualifications, in Maths and English
– Be passionate about inclusion and meeting children’s individual needs
– Be highly motivated, resilient and committed to securing the best possible outcomes for our pupils
– Be positive, proactive and solution focused
– Have high expectations of yourself and the pupils you work with
– Have a good understanding of working with children with special educational needs
– Be a team player with a good sense of humour
– Be willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our pupils
