Analyst, Agribusiness Advisory – EBRD

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the role are as follows:
Provide support to operation leader(s) and EBRD Agribusiness on selected programmes/initiatives:
Design, structure, procurement and delivery of all TC projects implemented by Agribusiness (and where relevant the ICA group), including support for operational leaders to identify sets of clear
objectives, outputs and outcomes for each TC in order to ensure the quality in submissions to the Grant Review Unit, incorporating lessons learned and best practice for the successful design and delivery of the Bank’s projects;
Support in ensuring that all TCs and initiatives are completed within the specified time frames to a high standard and in line with the policies, procedures and objectives of the Bank;
Effective, efficient and compliant procurement of consultancy services for the ICA Group and its clients.
Support effective monitoring of all TCs/initiatives, including specifically:
Support reviewing and providing a qualitative judgment of monitoring against pre-determined desired outputs and outcome indicators (as per results matrices) to ensure quality reporting on TC projects to the Bank’s management, Board and the donors in order to meet the strategic objectives of the Bank, including progress reports, completion reports and performance of consultants;
Support reviewing TC programmes and consultancy procurement processes for compliance with the applicable policies and rules, in order to ensure economy, efficiency, transparency and fairness in the consultant engagement process as well as accountability for the use of Bank and TC donor funds and recommending them for approval by Head/Team Leader;
As required, liaise and coordinate with other operational teams across the Bank to avoid duplication of TCs and incorporate lessons learnt when working with the same client.
Assist in drafting and providing necessary support with relevant information, documents and preparation of meetings, towards efforts to procure grants and technical cooperation funds to complement investment projects or required as part of policy dialogue efforts.
Assist with marketing and business development efforts contributing to implementation of the Agribusiness Sector Strategy, presentation of Agribusiness Advisory to assist bankers in building reputable market contacts in order to develop a broad investment flow and cross selling of the Bank’s competencies.
Contribute to research projects in the area of sector expertise and work with bankers to put them into an operational context.
Support Agribusiness in developing and contributing to relevant fora, online platforms and events, dialogue with IFI counterparts, sector stakeholders etc. in promoting the strategic objectives of the Bank in the agribusiness sector and contributing to Sustainable Development Goals; and any other visibility activities as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in the areas of expertise.
Relevant professional experience, preferably gained from an IFI, development organisation, donor organisation or think tanks.
Relevant Agribusiness sector and / or EBRD country of operations experience is desirable, including more specifically knowledge on food quality standards and labels; mainstreaming gender in the sector; and advanced technologies and innovation processes in agribusiness.
Experience in design, management and monitoring of advisory/TC projects.
Knowledge of EBRD Banking projects and technical assistance programmes, including the project lifecycle.
Experience in developing visibility activities, including participation in live and online events and platforms, social media campaigns, writing case studies (related to the agribusiness sector), etc.
Ability to operate in a multicultural environment and build effective working relationships with internal/external clients and colleagues.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively. Ability to multi-task and react quickly.
Stakeholder management skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, ability to perform well and work effectively under pressure according to set schedules.
Ability to quality-review reports including related to specific topic papers, TCs, frameworks, special initiatives, consultancy assignments with limited supervision.
Attention to detail, high computer literacy.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Knowledge and understanding of the EBRD’s mandate and passion about private sector development.
Please note this is a 13 month short term contract.
