Executive Performance Director – British Surfing – England

Job Description
British Surfing is a relatively new organisation, formed in 2019 by the four home nations. British Surfing is responsible for the selection, preparation and management of British teams competing on the world stage including the Olympic Games.
British Surfing now wishes to appoint its first Executive Performance Director, who will be responsible for the implementation of British Surfing’s Strategy and Operational Plan, through clear and decisive leadership and sound business judgement.
These are exciting times for our sport, the successful candidate will have a genuine opportunity to shape the future of our sport by building a system that develops and maximises the potential of the most talented and committed surfers.
In more specific terms British Surfing needs someone who has the capability and ambition to:
1. Creatively establish an interconnected, sustainable performance system that builds on the expertise, experience and success within the sport
2. Initiate transformational change where it is needed through collaboration, consultation and team working
3. Lead and facilitate progressive and innovative thinking for the purpose of establishing new approaches to high performance
4. Build positive and trusting relationships with people from across the sport and also with key partners and organisations
5. Build upon the progress to date, establish a high performance culture across the organisation and ensure that decisions put the athlete first
6. Ensure that the organisation remains ‘fit for purpose’ to be able to continue to receive public and commercial revenues.
