Marketing Assistant – GSi Events Ltd

Job Description
We’ve got some big marketing and development plans and we’re looking for a talented & enthusiastic marketing assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Marketing Director, we’d like to find someone who’s looking to help build and deliver world-class events as part of the best team in the world.

What you’ll be doing:
•Co-ordinating online and offline marketing campaigns across all events
•Working closely with partners and charities to build relationships with the view to increase brand awareness/increase entries/sales of products/services
•Tracking, developing & implementing marketing plans
•Executing & developing our e-marketing approach including targeted e-newsletters
•Writing and developing copy for direct mails / emails / proofing and editing
•Monitoring & updating the company’s social media networks
•Seeking out PR opportunities and writing press releases
•Managing online marketing strategies including the use of adwords, video ads, Facebook ads and other online sources
•Updating websites across all events, including e-commerce
•Briefing & managing design jobs for our graphic designer
•Analysing campaign performance and customer statistics with a view to increasing entries
•Organising media and marketing pre, during and post events

What you’ll be working on:
We are the organisers of some of the UK’s best mass sports participation events: The Edinburgh Marathon Festival, The Bournemouth Marathon Festival, The Scottish Half Marathon + 10K; Kilomathon, Big Fun Run Series, Dog Jog, Men’s 10K and Supernova Run, as well as EMF Running Tours.
The role will be responsible for contributing to the planning, development and delivery of marketing plans across all our events.

We’re looking for someone who…
•Understands & can demonstrate the importance of marketing
•Is an expert user of Mailchimp or similar email marketing platform
•Is handy with WordPress or similar CMS
•Has a broad understanding of a variety of social media networks and best practices
•Understands the importance of attention to detail
•Understands the importance of working to deadlines whilst also coming up with new ideas
•Shows a clear understanding of team working and communication

So, do you possess the following?:
•An ability to develop and communicate ideas and a willingness to share
•A marketing degree or equivalent
•The ability too manage multiple projects of varying complexities simultaneously
•Acute attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately
•The ability to coordinate online and offline marketing campaigns across several different events
