Job Description

Following promotion runs and a groundbreaking deal to acquire the 25,000-seater Darlington Arena, ambitious club Darlington Mowden Park RFC have opening for a Marketing & Communications Executive. The exciting post will be a key part of the clubs growing off field team. Revival of what is now the largest rugby specific venue a side from Twickenham Stadium, alongside the Club’s broad strategic plans, represent opportunity for the correct candidate to be part of an exceptionally exciting and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

Copy & Content – Website – Social Media – Press & Media – Design & Brand – Commecial Support

•Ownership of the Club website to populate with informative, well written and interesting content
•Develop and deliver the Club’s social media strategy
•Work with the Managing Director to develop the brand and marketing initiatives that drive both rugby and facility activity and revenues
•Develop and deliver clear and effective briefs for design and media partners
•Drive, create and co-ordinate distribution of promotional content through a range of channels including, but not exclusive to website, social media, e-bulletins, media partners, sponsor and partner networks
•Write, plan and coordinate the Club’s match day programme, including ghost-writing the Director of Rugby’s column, while making sure it fulfils all sponsorship/partner obligations
•Keep abreast of Club events and news from sponsors, members, coaches and players perspectives and ensure it is distributed through appropriate channels
•Work specifically around promotion of Club matchday and events
•To deal with a variety of press and media stakeholders with view of developing relations that drive the club’s marketing and media profile
•To co-ordinate filming and edit of video interviews that populate the club’s YouTube channel
•To deliver elements of matchday operations that relate to marketing and communications
•To deliver aspects of ticketing that relate to matchday promotion
•To work with sponsors and partners around their activations

Candidate Specification

Required

•An enthusiastic, committed and self-driven individual
•Articulate and confident communicator (both written and verbally)
•Experience of utilising social media as a promotional tool
•Experience of web content management systems
•Computer literate to a high degree
•A passion for sport and business
•Good organisation and time management skills
•Willingness and flexibility to work weekends and occasional week nights
•Strong organisation and interpersonal skills
•Able to self-manage

Advantageous but not essential

•Degree qualified
•Experience of working with press and media
•Experience of working with sponsorships
•Experience of working with marketing promotions
•An awareness/ appreciation of online marketing (e.g. PPC, SEO, email, Display etc.)
•An awareness/ appreciation of web analytics
•Experience in filming and basic video editing
