Part-Time Club Doctor – Queens Park Rangers Football Club

Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Club Doctor to join the Sport Science and Medicine Department at Queens Park Rangers Football Club.

Reporting to the Head of Medical Services and Football Senior Management, the post holder will contribute to the achievement of the aims and objectives of QPR FC through supporting the Head of Medical Services and medical team in delivering a high quality medical service to players and staff.

As such, we are seeking a committed, enthusiastic individual with the desire to develop their experience of working in a professional team sports environment. Previous experience working within football is highly desirable.

Key Focus:
• To ensure all medicines, treatments, food provision and supplements comply with WADA guidelines.
• To provide medical input to diagnosis and management of injuries and medical conditions to Senior and Academy players.
• Provide Match day Medical cover for 1st team games, and ensure appropriate cover is present for Academy games as required.
• Maintain an Up-to-date Cardiology, and immunisation screening protocol.
• Lead on the Accelerated concussion return to play protocol.
• To liaise with external medical specialists regarding player care.
• Liaise with the Manager, 1st Team coaches and Medical MDT regarding the availability of unwell or compromised players for training and matches.

Candidate Specification:
Essential
• Member of a nationally recognised GMC
• Have completed or be working towards PGDIP SEM/MSc
• Current registration with one or more appropriate governing bodies with up to date CPD records.
• Experience of working with professional elite athletes and managing wellbeing programmes to facilitate their long term athletic development and prevent injury.

Desirable
• Experience of working as a doctor in elite sport.
• Previous “management” experience.
• Experience and Competent in basic MSk injection therapy/Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK.
