Gym & Training Facilities Assistant- The Championships, Wimbledon

Job Description
We are looking for a number of Gym & Recovery Facilities Assistants to assist in the setup and usage of all training and recovery facilities during both the Qualifying Competition and The Championships.
If shortlisted, candidates will be required to attend an Assessment Centre at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, on Monday 2 March 2020.

Background
The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (AELTC) organises and stages The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships.
The Championships, Wimbledon is the world’s premier tennis tournament and one of the largest annual events in the world. The Championships attract over 500,000 visitors every year and has a global television audience of up to 1 billion people.

Main Responsibilities
– Setup, closedown and management of training and recovery areas (daily maintenance equipment checks, equipment inventory, appropriate usage, cleanliness)
– Towel management (usage, counting and collection)
– Engagement with coaching staff and players when required in order to provide advice on equipment usage and any issues that may occur
– Implementing health and safety, risk management and emergency procedures for all gym users
– Daily recording of issues, successes, facility setup, equipment usage, facility numbers (hourly/daily) and H&S.

Person Specification
– Proven experience within a training/coaching environment
– BSc in Exercise or Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Rehab or related discipline
– Hold a valid first aid certification, including the use of a defibrillator
– Experience and knowledge of tennis and training modalities
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Punctual and diligent with managing a training facility
– Reliable team player
– Strong work ethic and the ability to cope with fluctuating workloads and pressure
Other Information
– Maximal discretion is required within this role due to the individuals you will be interacting with
– This position does not require you to coach / train any competitors during the Qualifying Competition or The Championships
– Contracts vary in length and are between Friday 19 June and Sunday 12 July 2020
– Flexibility is required in the rare case of additional days due to rain delays
– A uniform is provided for this position
– A food allowance is provided on working days in accordance to shift pattern and length
