Events Officer – England Hockey

Job Description
England Hockey is the National Governing Body for the sport of Hockey in England and has income and expenditure of circa £11m per annum. It is responsible for the management and development of the sport from grass roots to elite activities. We are seeking to recruit an Events Officer who will work within our Events Team and deliver dynamic events that will inspire more fans to follow our sport.
This is a really exciting period for England Hockey. We’ve just hosted the FIH Hockey Champions Trophy for men and women and already secured the Men’s World League Semi-Finals in 2017 and the Women’s World Cup in 2018. Putting on great events at our Olympic legacy facility on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and other venues is our passion. With the recent Olympic Gold medal win for our women’s squad at the Rio 2016, a new international events portfolio coming in 2019 and a range of other high profile domestic events staged annually, we have a great opportunity to maximise the visibility, grow our fan base and develop our commercial partnerships.

By delivering successful events with an inspired outlook we aim to attract interest from spectators, sponsors and broadcasters alike. We also aim to engage and inspire young people and adults to follow in the footsteps of their heroes and take advantage of the many opportunities to play and watch our sport. To support the delivery of these events and objectives we are looking for an individual with previous events experience to join our Events Team.

England Hockey’s vision is to become a ‘Nation Where Hockey Matters’ through “providing inspirational leadership for all to fulfil their potential”. The current focus for the organisation is delivery of its 5 objectives within the 2013 -2017 strategic plan:

• Growth in participation – Increase the number of people participating in hockey
• International success – Continue to raise the performance bar of athlete and coach development and create positive role models for the sport
