Competition Development Officer – Lawn Tennis Association – Roehampton SW15

Job Description
The LTA Major Events & Competitions team work with teams from across the organisation and external partners to deliver a calendar of international and national competitions across Great Britain. The team support and service competition at every level, including Officiating, and develop the competition framework to help grow and sustain participation.

The role will focus on supporting our approach to developing new recreational competition opportunities for juniors and adults in parks, clubs and education facilities, as well as working with and through the Regional Tennis Competition Co-ordinators and wider Participation Team.

    Park Competition

To account manage the LTA’s partnership with Local Tennis Leagues, working with them to put in place a strategy and supporting plans to grow park league competition in GB
Develop recreational ‘turn up and play’ competition opportunities in Parks, focussing on specific target markets and priority sites, ensuring close working with the Regional Teams.

    Club Competition (Leagues)

Work with County Associations and the Regional Team to strengthen and protect local county and district league competition for adults, with a focus on supporting Leagues to look at ways to grow the number of club teams taking part and improve the quality of delivery.
To grow and develop local league competition for juniors especially during the winter season by providing high quality support to local league organisers and the Regional Tennis Competition Co-ordinators.
University Competition

To work with the Tennis Foundation and UTCs to scale up recreational competition opportunities at Universities and Colleges including timed tennis and internal competition.
To work with the Tennis Foundation and BUCS, to develop the University individual tournaments and BUCS leagues.
