We want to appoint a good teacher of English for September 2015. This post would suit an experienced or more recently qualified teacher of English.
As a school our academic results are outstanding. The Howard School is the only non-selective school in Medway, that has consecutively achieved an average of 60% plus 5 A* – C grades including English and Maths at GCSE, in the last three years. We remain one of the best performing non-selective schools in the South East.
73% boys achieved A*- C last year in English and results have improved year on year. There are several A level groups including Language, Literature and Creative Writing.
Ofsted in 2013 referred to our English department as ‘Outstanding’ in their report. The English department are a cohesive department who work together to achieve the best for students. This supportive environment is reflected across the school.
