Rugbytots Lead / Assistant Coach – Rugbytots – Carlisle

Job Description
Rugbytots Cumbria is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, lively and energetic individuals with experience in working with children to join their expanding network of coaches. We are searching for assistant and lead coaches to work part-time hours mainly on a Saturday and Sunday, although could include midweek and afterschool work. An extremely outgoing personality who can keep children entertained is essential.

You will be required to follow a set structure of class activities, adapting the programme to ensure the needs of the group are continually met and gradual improvement takes place. Full training will be provided including Paediatric First Aid and Tag Rugby Coaching Certificate. (Lead Coach) Please note a police DBS check will be undertaken and candidates must hold a valid work permit or visa to work in the UK.

    Personal specifications required for the position:
• Experience working with young children
• Bright, lively, enthusiastic and patient
• Excellent organisational skills
• Flexibility
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Own transportation is desirable
• Ability to work in the UK

    Duties whilst working for the company will include but not limited to:
• To welcome and acknowledge all participants upon arrival of each class
• To maintain attendance register and maintain administration of non-payers etc. informing line manager of any anomalies
• To ensure classes commence and finish on time
• To lead, motivate and engage with the children in your classes
• Work though the Rugbytots programme to teach the basic core skills used in rugby in a fun and structured environment using equipment and apparatus provided
• Encouraging team spirit and patience amongst the team by doing appropriate games and tasks in groups and individually
• Maintain authority over the class in a clear and concise manner and promptly addressing any disruptive behaviour
• Handing out rebooking letters, advising on term dates, change of venue details or handing out newsletters etc. when required
• Referring any parent enquiries to your line manager
• Leave hall clear and tidy after classes
• To complete your own timesheets and ensure they are sent to our accounts department on time to ensure prompt payment of hours worked
• If available, be able to cover other or additional Rugbytots classes in emergencies
• To attend all training and refresher courses as required by Rugbytots
• To act in a professional way as a representative of Rugbytots whilst conducting your classes.
