Responsible for: Delivery of the Trusts Premier League Primary Stars project (PE Curriculum & PSHE)

Job Purpose
Premier League Primary Stars – PE Curriculum Coach

Utilising funding provided by the Premier League Charitable Fund, the role will be responsible for delivery of the Premier League (PL) Primary Stars programme for children aged between 5 and 11 in primary school settings.

PL Primary Stars aims to use the inspiration of the PL and professional football clubs to create healthier and more positive futures for all children in England and Wales. The programme seeks to improve and enhance physical education (PE) and other curriculum areas, and develop the skills and values that are crucial to success in later life.

PL Primary Stars Objectives:
• Enhance teacher’s knowledge, skills and confidence to improve the provision of PE and School Sport.
• Increase children’s enjoyment, participation and skills in competitive and non-competitive sports and other physical activities.
• Increase children’s understanding of the personal skills and values they need to achieve their goals.
• Enhance children’s understanding of, and interest and confidence in, English and Maths;
• Support young people to follow further participation pathways in sport.

Key Objectives of the role:
• To deliver the minimum key performance indicators (KPIs) of the Premier League Primary Stars programme operating to the Trusts minimum standards.
• To promote and support the sustainability of high quality PE delivery in Primary schools.
• To develop, grow and enhance links between the Community Trust and partnership Primary Schools

Duties and Responsibilities
• To plan and deliver KS1 and KS2 PE Curriculum, in city and county partnership primary schools.
• To plan and deliver Literacy themed and PSHE workshops, in city and county partnership primary schools.
• Deliver the key outcomes of the PL Primary Stars programme.
• To mentor and upskill Primary school teachers in PE Curriculum delivery, providing personal development plans.
• To ensure the Trusts Monitoring and Evaluation process is adhered to.
• Work in partnership with schools / educational establishments.
• Develop sustainable, meaningful partnerships with schools and key staff.
• Continued personal development, attendance at Trust CPD sessions/events

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
Relevant Sports related Degree/A Levels – Desirable
Relevant teaching qualification (CTTLS/QTS/QTLS) – Desirable
AfPE Level 3 – Supporting the delivery of PE and School Sport – Desirable
FA Level 2 Coaching certificate – Essential
Multi – Skills Level 2 Award – Desirable
FA Youth Awards – Desirable
Safeguarding Certificate – Essential
First Aid Award – Essential

Knowledge and Experience
Experience of working in the education system at any level Desirable
Knowledge of National Curriculum for PE (preferably Primary school) – Essential
Demonstrate a good understanding of Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) and Academy Pathway – Desirable
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young people in various community settings. – Essential
Experience of managing and implementing physical activity programmes for children and young people. – Essential
Experience of managing relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners at all levels. – Desirable

Contract Term: (30 Hour Contract) 1 year fixed term, you may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.
