Intelligent Media Solutions (IMS), a dynamic publishing company involved in magazine publishing, new media and marketing solutions, is based in Islington, London. We’re a fast-moving, driven and ambitious team where leading from the front is a pre-requisite. Our company is made up of talented individuals who produce eight publications and websites, from concept to content, media sales to look and feel, and of course the all-important finished product!
You’ll be working closely with the managing editor to plan and manage editorial content across a portfolio of publications. With strong titles in the health and education sectors, across both print and digital platforms, this role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented editorial team.
The role will involve writing and editing a wide range of articles from news analysis to features and interviews as well as research pieces. You will work to maintain and strengthen our magazines’ position as the leading, agenda-setting titles in their sector.
Delivering focused, original and cutting-edge editorial has been the cornerstone of our success, so the ability to grow and develop the editorial content of the magazine is a must. We launched an enhanced digital presence in 2014, so confidence in writing across both print and digital platforms is also essential.
You will also be expected to attend meetings, interviews, conferences and events, develop key industry and sector contacts, plan and research articles, and write to deadline.
You will have:
Minimum 1 years’ experience in journalism, ideally in a B2B environment.
Experience of working on a range of platforms including print and online.
Ability to manage multiple short and long-term deadlines and projects.
Ability to write in-depth articles on a range of sometimes technical and complex subjects.
Excellent communication skills.
This role is fast-moving and varied, so you’ll need to be excellent at working under pressure and to tight deadlines. You should also be a fast learner, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for doing things well.
Personality-wise, we’re looking for a positive, outgoing person with a can-do attitude who can develop and maintain good relationships with sector contacts. It’s also important that you have a strategic mind and are passionate about working in B2B publishing.

Basic salary: £17,000-£22,000 dependent on skills and experience, plus year-end bonus.
