Cricket Participation Officer (Club Support) – Surrey Cricket Foundation

Job Overview:
The purpose of the role is to deliver SCF’s role in supporting cricket clubs across Surrey to grow the recreational game at all levels across the county.
Working as part of a team of 3 Club Support Officers you will be responsible for identifying and maximising opportunities for significant participation growth in clubs across Surrey, developing strong relationships with all of the clubs you have responsibility for. You will also take county wide responsibility for Volunteering and the SCF Affiliation Programme becoming a subject matter expert in these areas and leading the SCF’s delivery in these areas.
Ultimately you will play a key role in helping to deliver the outcomes of ECB’s Inspiring Generations strategy, supporting the club network to significantly increase the number of people who believe ‘Cricket is a Game for Me.’

General Duties:
Work with the Cricket Participation Manager, the SCF team, ECB and other partners to produce and deliver cohesive and effective participation & growth strategies and operational plans, with a specific focus on club support, volunteering and club/school affiliation.
Develop close working relationships with circa 60 clubs across Surrey, identifying and working with specific clubs on an annual basis to deliver specific growth and retention objectives in order to deliver the outcomes of Inspiring Generations.

Be county lead Officer responsible for the delivery of ECB’s Volunteering Action Plan, supporting the other Officers to deliver outcomes across the whole county.
Review, develop and deliver the SCF county wide affiliation programme ensuring that clubs and schools across Surrey and surrounding areas can access support and benefits to help them grow the game.

The Person
The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:

Essential:
• Experience of working in club development in a sport club setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Developed influencing skills
• Experience of programme/project management
• Excellent time management skills. Ability to work autonomously
• Good attention to detail
• Good computer literacy, including MS office
• Commitment to a continual professional development programme

Desirable:
• Degree in related subject
• Experience of volunteering on a cricket/sports club committee
• Experience of writing and supporting funding applications for
grant aid funding
• Drivers licence and access to transport
Satisfactory ECB DBS Check, and the right to work in the United Kingdom
