Assistant Programme Manager – Child Care – Leyton Sixth Form College – Waltham Forest

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Design and Technology to join our passionate and highly motivated team. At Daventry UTC each teacher has a dedicated classroom, with an interactive whiteboard, within our new building.

The students follow the Edexcel syllabus at both Key Stages. At Key Stage 4 students follow a GCSE programme of learning, contextualised whenever possible to support the students’ study of their chosen specialism. Students are regularly assessed to monitor progress and set targets.

The successful candidate would contribute to the teaching in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 as appropriate. Newly qualified or part time candidates are also welcome to apply as are teachers who might wish to work across more than one department.
Leyton Sixth Form College offers a wide range of A level and vocational courses to approximately 2,000 full-time 16-19 year old students. We are looking for an exceptional individual to support the management of our Care, Health, Sport and Travel department and to make a significant contribution to the ongoing developments in this successful programme area.

As Assistant Programme Manager with responsibility for Child Care, you will lead initiatives within the Child Care curriculum, play an active role in setting and achieving targets, and support the maintenance of high standards of teaching and learning within the team.

You will be a key member of the college’s management team and will contribute not only to improvements and success within your own area, but to other college-wide initiatives and activities.

You should be suitably qualified to teach within a sixth form college and have a relevant teaching specialism. In addition, you should have experience of managing others, excellent communication skills, and a track record of sustained improvement leading to a positive impact on students’ progress.
