Role:
The Premier League is looking to recruit a new Head of Elite Performance to support their mission of developing more and better Home Grown Players.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on a number of new and current projects that aim to aid and inform player recruitment, development and transition through the performance pathway across a multi-disciplinary platform including physical, technical / tactical and psychological development.

This post is a senior position within the Premier League Youth Department, and would require the holder to be a member of the Deaprtment Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:
• To manage the Elite Performance function (and staff) within the Youth Department and contribute to the overall management of department
• Lead the support, development and delivery of Elite Performance programmes across Clubs
• Co-ordinate the the delivery of the National Fitness Testing Project for all Academy Players from U12 to U21, disseminating club-specific and nationally benchmarked data to Clubs via quarterly and annual reports
• Co-ordinate the delivery of the Growth and Maturation Project, working with Clubs to aid and inform practice in respect of banding players by biological age
• Co-ordinate the collection and dissemination of club-specific and nationally benchmarked data via quartey and annual reports to Clubs in respect of the league-wide Injury Surveillance Project for all Academy Players
• Lead on the design and implementation of a Technical analysis and benchmarking project for Premier League 2 and the other suite of competitions in the Professional Development Phase Games Programme.
• Lead support for sports science, nutrition, medicine, and psychology within Clubs
• Co-ordinate the delivery of research and analysis relating to the data created from the EPPP process and Elite Performance porjects
• Continue to set and deliver BASES accreditation in Football Science fo Academy Sports Science and Medical personnel
• Deliver a programme of CPD for Sports Science and Medicine staff in Premier League and Category 1 Academies
• Support the Clubs in the delivery of their Academy Performance Plan
• Support Clubs in preparation for ISO audit and provide support for the delivery of annual reports
• Actively support the development of staff in the Elite Performance function by ensuring that they have a Development Action Plan that; supports their ability to effectively perform their role, and supports their personal and professional development
• From time to time undertake other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the Premier League Youth Department

Person specification (experience and qualifications)
Essential:
• Ability to manage multiple projects across a number of disciplines
• Leadership experience in an elite performance role
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams with particular reference to Sports Science and Medicine, Elite Performance or Talent ID in an elite environment
• Experience of writing and implementing performance plans
• Understanding of the principles of Youth Development preferably in a football environment
• High level communication, written and organisational skills
• Effectively sets and monitors goals
• High level emotional intelligence
• DBS clearance

Desirable:
• BASES Accredited
• Passion for football
• Relevant experience of working in an Academy or equivalent
• Experience of working in an elite Youth Development environment
