Who are we?
The London Marathon Charitable Trust is an independent grant making charity which provides grants for capital projects implemented by organisations and communities that are committed to inspiring and enabling more people to take part in physical activities. Founded in 1981, the Trust currently awards about £5m each year although this amount is expected to grow significantly.

    The Job
We are looking to recruit a full time Administrative Assistant to assist in the general administration of office operations of The Trust. The main responsibilities of the role are:
• To ensure the smooth and efficient running of The Trust
• To serve as first point of contact with The Trust for applicants, grantees, suppliers and stakeholders
• To organise and maintain The Trust’s filing system
• To schedule and organise Trustees’ and other meetings and to make associated travel arrangements
• To assist with data entry for the GIFTS grants management system
• To assist with responding to grant applications, writing reports

    Skills and Experience
• Proven track record of an organised and methodical approach to work, combining numerical accuracy with attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent filing and organisational skills
• Experience organising meetings and making travel arrangements
• Excellent word processing skills and aptitude for working with spreadsheets, using databases to process information and electronic communications
• Experience of working with the GIFTS online grants management system is beneficial
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• An ability to work with a range of stakeholders, internal and external, including senior staff, grantees, trustees, policy makers and practitioners
• An ability to work flexibly in a busy environment
• An interest in charitable activity and the work of The Trust
• A helpful and friendly attitude and demeanour

The role requires some evening and weekend working.
