Practical Publishing International, an established publisher of market-leading craft magazines, requires a Sub-Editor to strengthen its production team.

The successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail and be able to work efficiently and accurately across a portfolio of craft magazines. They will be able to remove spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, ensure that articles fit required word counts and proof pages accurately. When required they will be able to rewrite material so that it flows smoothly and adheres to house style. The successful applicant will be confident in working closely with Editors and Art Editors to ensure that all deadlines are met, and will be able to manage their own workload successfully whilst upholding the high standards of the magazines.

The role requires knowledge of Microsoft Office and InDesign software along with an interest and understanding of social media platforms. Prior sub-editing experience or a degree in Journalism is preferable. An interest in crafts would be beneficial but not essential.

The job is based at our office in Stockport.
