Shopping Editor / Reporter – William Reed Business Media – Crawley, England

The Grocer is looking for a talented journalist to fill this new position on our busy news desk. You’ll be covering topics such as store design, merchandising/ranging, in-store marketing, shopper behaviour, customer service and property/planning.

We anticipate lots of travel in this role, so you can keep our readership apprised of the latest news, trends and developments in the UK, Europe and the Rest of the World.

We want someone who can scoop the competition (including the nationals) and write compellingly and authoritatively about the in-store experience at the leading supermarkets, forecourts, delis, convenience stores, farm shops, delis etc., landing great stories week in, week out, and providing comment, blogs, analysis, galleries and features, plus profiles of important industry figures.

You will therefore need:

Business news experience
An interest in retail and shopping
Multi-media skills, including an understanding of new media, social networking and, ideally, audio-visual.
The personality, curiosity and intelligence to develop and work senior-level contacts
