Independent Board Chair for the World Artistic Gymnastic Championships 2022, Liverpool – Liverpool City Council

Job Description
In 2022 Liverpool will host the World Artistic Gymnastic Championships welcoming the top 600 world class gymnasts from 90 countries around the world to compete in 8 days of competition at the M&S Bank Arena on the banks of the River Mersey.
From its inception the city of Liverpool and British Gymnastics set out to deliver the most innovative World Championships with the needs of both gymnasts and spectators at its core. The event will continue to enhance the UK’s reputation as major event hosts and will ensure a
lasting legacy for all. The Championships will welcome the world to experience the unique passion, culture and heritage of Liverpool and will continue to raise the bar in event delivery.
To support delivery of a successful World Championships, Liverpool City Council (LCC) and British Gymnastics (BG) have created an Event Delivery Board to provide oversight and direction to the development, planning and staging of the Championships in 2022. The Board is made up of representatives of LCC, BG and UK Sport alongside independent board members with expertise in Elite Sports & Athlete Experience, Business, Commercial and Grant
Funding, Marketing, Media and PR, Visitor Economy and Spectator/Event Experience. We now require an Independent Chair who shares the passion and ambition for this event
who can lead this Board.
