What is the role?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Disability Football Coach to come on board and join the Saints Foundation. This role will football sessions to young people and adults with sensory impairments in accordance with the standards and professionalism set out by Saints Foundation. The role will consist of planning and delivering practical football sessions based in schools and community venues, including a pan-disability league and impairment specific sessions.

What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be able to support Saints Foundation’s disability programme in delivering exciting and engaging sessions for children, young people and adults with a learning, physical or sensory impairments on in accordance with Saints Foundation’s expectations. This person will need to prepare and deliver against lesson and session plans aligned to curriculums and programmes provided. We are looking for an organised, well presented individual who can keep track of each session and report back to the project lead when needed. This person needs to be a clear communicator liaising with the Project Officer. Ideally this person needs to have previous experience coaching sport to children, young people and adults with a learning, physical or sensory impairments. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude and a confident personality with the ability to overcome challenges. Finally this role requires a creative individual able to deliver enthusiastic sessions.
The competencies which are required include:

Essential Experience:
•Experience of coaching sport to children, young people and adults with a learning, physical or sensory impairments.
•Experience of managing relationships with children and parents.

Desirable Experience:
•A good understanding of relevant services and partner organisations in Southampton and be able to signpost service users accordingly.
•Experience of working within the sport or charity industry.
•Knowledge of Saints Foundation and Premier League funded projects.
Essential Qualifications (including certifications):
•Minimum FA Level 2 Coaching qualification
•In date FA Safeguarding &
•FA Emergency Frist Aid qualifications

Desirable Qualifications (including certifications):
•Coaching Blind Footballers.
•Coaching Deaf Footballers.
•Coaching Disabled Footballers.
•Coaching Powerchair Football
•BSL (British Sign Language) Level 1
•Multi Skills Level 2
•AFPE Level 3
•Other NGB qualifications

Desirable Skills:
•The ability to adapt sessions to meet the needs of the group
•Patience and understanding of peoples abilities
•The ability to identifying potential challenging situations.
