Based in the picturesque woodland campus of Heriot-Watt University, the £30m facilities have been funded by £25m from the Scottish Government and £5m jointly by the University and City of Edinburgh Council, and will open in August 2016.

The new development will integrate with the existing sports centre and sports academy making Oriam one of the largest sports complexes in Scotland, becoming the national training base for football, rugby, basketball, volleyball, handball and squash, and through the Scottish Institute of Sport will support many of Scotland’s top athletes on their journey to success on the world stage.

As Director of Operations you will be an experienced leader with the knowledge, skills and motivation to effectively manage the operation of this world class facility and deliver the ambitious aspirations for Oriam.

You will lead the strategic planning of all facility management services and grounds maintenance service, creating an inspiring training environment, helping athletes, students and the community to realise their potential. Delivering exceptional customer service will be your focus.

Ultimately, you will inspire and motivate the staff team to deliver exceptional service and like top athletes you should be prepared to strive for the marginal gains that lead to success.
