Chief Executive – Sherburn House Charity – North East England

We seek to appoint a successor to the current holder who is retiring this year.
Sherburn House Charity, also known as Christ’s Hospital in Sherburn or Sherburn Hospital, is the oldest charity in the North East of England. It was founded in 1181 by Bishop Pudsey, the Prince Bishop at the time.

The charity now has two main functions

Residential care for the elderly in its residential care home and almshouses
Grant making in the North East – making grants to organisations which exist to improve the life of people disadvantaged in some way – and making grants to individuals who are in extreme social need.

The post will build on the charity’s successes to develop not only its existing services, but consider how best to take it forward within its charitable objectives.
We are looking for a broad range of experience.
