Chief Executive – Jersey Sport

Job Description
A CEO is required to lead this newly formed independent sports development body (with non-charitable purpose trust status). Heading up the company and reporting to the new Jersey Sport Strategic Board (JSSB), the CEO will finalise Company strategy, create its business plan and direct the delivery and co-ordination of sport/physical activity across the Island. This is an exciting role that requires someone with passion, energy and commitment to raise levels of physical literacy and participation and assist Jersey to make the most of its undoubted potential. Key tasks include, communicating with and unifying partners in a common cause, building the commercial and sponsorship facets of the business and optimising Jersey Sport’s role, profile, relevance, quality and impact. The successful applicant will bring:
 Vision, leadership and experience of strategic management.
 Outcome-focus & drive to deliver excellent projects/programmes
 Strong communication skills, marketing knowledge, flair & innovation.
 Ability to drive effective performance measurement/management.
 Strong commercial skills.

Understanding of sport/physical activity development and ability to lead a staff team is vital. Coupled with this you will bring confidence and capacity to interact effectively with the States of Jersey (a key funder and supporter of Jersey Sport), the Island’s business community and the complex range of volunteer networks. The CEO will lead the sports development team working closely with NGBs, schools, the private and 3rd sectors, health and the media to deliver a quality service and promote Jersey Sport’s programmes and value in a results-focused environment.
Specific management arrangements will be determined by the new CEO and the JSSB. The desire to get the right candidate is reflected in the salary.
