Location: Coventry and Warwickshire
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8-5pm.

Purpose of the post: To plan, deliver, evaluate and support the administration of the SportElite alternative education programme.

Accountable to: Sports Education Officer x 2

Supervisory responsibilities: None

Support Sport are a not-for-profit organisation supporting children and young people through sports, community and leadership activities throughout Coventry and Warwickshire. Due to the continued expansion of our alternative education programme, SportElite, we are recruiting for an experienced Sports Education Tutor.

We are looking for an experienced Tutor with the ability to plan, deliver, evaluate and administrate BTEC and Sports Leaders UK qualifications in an engaging and structured environment. The role will involve working during the school term; however, for the right candidate we can offer further opportunities.

    Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan, deliver and evaluate BTEC and Sports Leaders UK qualifications on the SportElite alternative education programme
• Identify needs and develop the education programme, working closely alongside the Sports Education Officer and Centre Manager
• Assist in the administration of the programme, including compiling registers, feedback, planning, preparation and assessment of education materials
• Support the management of all staff, apprentices, trainees and volunteers
• Support all Support Sport events and projects
• Support the positive development and publicity of Support Sport
• Agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Support Sport policies and procedures; including equal opportunities, child protection, health and safety at work etc.
• Ensure that all activities are delivered to the very highest standards
• To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement
• To follow excellent safeguarding practice at all times
• To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post

  Requirements
    Essential Criteria:
• Experience of delivering sport, community and education sessions within a range of environments, particularly working with challenging young people.
• Experience of administrating sports and education sessions – including planning and evaluating sessions and assessing work alongside a scheme of work and set criteria
• Hold a minimum Level 1 National Governing Body coaching qualification/Sports Leaders UK
Level 2 award in Leadership
• Hold a current CRB/DBS, or willing to achieve if appointed
• Hold a valid first aid certificate, or willing to achieve if appointed
• Hold a valid safeguarding certificate, or willing to achieve if appointed
• A firm commitment to Continual Professional Development

    Desirable Criteria:
• Experience of leading planning, delivering, assessment and evaluating of sports sessions
• To hold a sport National Governing Body Level 2 or above coaching award
