Senior Lecturer, Journalism – University of Westminster – London

Would you like to teach the journalists of the future? Can you teach Journalism and Media students the up-to-date skills, knowledge and awareness they need to build sustainable careers as they enter a changing media environment?

The University of Westminster is looking for someone to join its successful BA (Hons) Journalism degree and teach on both the practical journalism and media theory parts of the course.

The successful candidate will have an established profile in teaching and academic research on journalism, or a strong professional background in journalism and an ability to apply that to both teaching students and developing their own research interests. In particular, they will have up to date expertise in news journalism and how it is being changed by online multimedia.

The main teaching duties for this post will be on the BA (Hons) Journalism degree and senior lecturers are expected to identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement. You might also be required to teach on other digital media courses – at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Further, you will be expected to contribute to the faculty’s vibrant and highly rated community of media researchers, either through individual research or collaborative projects.

The post is full time and based in Harrow, Middlesex.
