Title: Academy Football Coach – Youth Development Phase

Purpose & Scope of Position: To contribute to the long term development of elite footballers within the Academy at Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

Responsible to: The Lead Youth Development Phase Coach

Accountable for: The long term development of elite academy players within the Youth Development Phase. The Health and Safety and Welfare of academy players, Training and Playing areas, Training Equipment, Match day co-ordination (Mandatory), compiling detailed written player progress assessments.

Works With: Academy Manager, Head of Academy Coaching, Lead Youth Development Phase Coach and Academy Medical Team.

    Principle Duties & Responsibilities

1. To coach and develop Academy players to the ‘ShrewsburyTown Way’

2. To maintain the Health, Safety and Welfare of all Academy players during training sessions and matches.

3. To aid, assist and support the Academy Manager, Head of Academy Coaching, Lead Youth Development Phase Coach with the delivering and evaluation of the ‘Shrewsbury Town Way’

4. To evaluate the progress and performance of Academy players against their learning outcomes and objectives in training and matches and to provide the Lead Youth Development Phase Coach with the details on a weekly basis.

5. To organise and implement up to three structured coaching and training sessions per week to meet the needs of the individual player.

    Qualifications:
UEFA B Licence (or very close to completion)
FA Youth Award (or close to completion)
FA Licenced Coach
