Following the success of Gardens by the Bay in Singapore we have a number of high profile commissions in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Australia alongside many rewarding projects in the UK. With over 40 employees based in Bath and Singapore, we are looking to recruit the following to join our practice in Bath.
We require a 3D digital design and modelling specialist to work as part of a team within our Bath studio, working on a wide range of challenging design projects from the early concept stages through to detailed design and construction phases.
The position would suit someone coming from an architectural visualisation background that can demonstrate their ability to read and understand CAD plans, elevations and sections. Your principal work will involve developing new design options and 3D environments in response to briefs from other members of the project team.
Software skills to include proficiency in Rhino (or similar NURBS based software), 3D Studio Max (or similar 3D package), Adobe Photoshop and a basic knowledge of AutoCAD. Other useful but non-essential software skills would include an understanding of Adobe Illustrator, Revit and After Effects.
Specific tasks include:
produce 3D models from CAD and hand drawn generated sketches, plans, elevations and sections
read and understand 2D spot levels and contour information
prepare and test conceptual ideas based on organic forms and innovative ecological processes
preparation of 3D landscape projects from extensive urban and rural master plans through to modelling of specific structures (such as bridges, landforms and shelters) and their associated components
liaising with external rendering organisations to combine in house models with externally generated models
setting up and rendering of selected views to suit graphic and project image identity
preparation of still views, animations, rendering and other presentations that communicate project ideas and forms
other non-essential tasks would be to assist project landscape architects with the development of BIM models and a have a knowledge of .stl file formats and other requirements for 3D printing devices
