School Sports Coaches – Somerset – Pro-Coaching

Job Description
Pro-Coaching (UK) Ltd are delighted to be able to offer these exciting roles within a rapidly-growing organisation. It is an excellent opportunity for people looking to progress their coaching career and apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their previous coaching experiences.
The positions of School Sports Coach will be offered initially on a part-time basis. This will be for anything from 6 – 25 hours per week depending on your skills, qualifications and experience.

Person Specification
It is essential that the successful candidate has a:
• NGB Level 2 coaching qualification in at least one sport
• Full driving licence, access to own transport and willing to travel
• High level of coaching ability and believes in maintaining those high standards
• Extensive previous experience working in schools, leading sessions, working with children from all backgrounds, and maintaining control of large groups without direct support/supervision
It is desirable that the successful candidate has a:
• Range of NGB Level 1 or higher qualifications in a variety of sports
• Current First Aid qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post).
current Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post)
• Sound knowledge, experience, and comprehension of the primary national curriculum

Job Description
The position of Sports Coach will involve the following duties and responsibilities:
• To effectively plan, deliver and evaluate a range of high quality multiskill and sport-specific sessions
• To organise, lead, and/or assist on sports holiday camps
• To imaginatively promote the organisation and its services within schools and the community
• To undertake training and professional development where necessary in relation to role within the organisation
• To undertake other duties, commensurate to the post, as necessary when required

We are currently in discussions with several schools regarding their sports provision requirements for the next academic year.
• Are able to engage well and build up a good rapport with young people, school staff members and parents
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Are intrinsically motivated to work hard and perform their duties to the best of their abilities
• Prioritise the welfare and safety of the young people they are responsible for
• Are enthusiastic and innovative
• Are punctual and organised
• Are able to work effectively on own initiative, and as part of a team
