Line Producer – The Documentary Unit – BBC – London

Role Responsibility
A significant part of this role includes budgeting, forecasting, forward planning, contract management and recruitment. BBC Studios has access to a network of internal business advisors who work in conjunction with production management on all business activity.
Driving innovation, change and ensure continuous improvements are implemented throughout the production process.
Managing key stakeholder relationships with external partners, demonstrate enthusiasm for change and continuous improvement whilst working to the strategic aims of the Documentary Unit.
Working in partnership with senior editorial colleagues to deliver the very best content to a global audience.
Supporting the Production Executives to ensure business processes and communication are aligned across the production management teams.
An Ambassador for diversity, inclusion and sustainability, supporting challenging ambition and delivering results.
Are you the right candidate?

Candidates will demonstrate:
Extensive experience at Senior Production Manager/Line Producer level, in particular have experience of at least two of the following types of programming: observational documentaries, archive-rich series, live studio and/or co-productions.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with a number of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to work strategically, using decision-making skills, advocating different ways of thinking and guiding new ways of working.
Confident in challenging and influencing key decisions not just managing decisions that are made.
Strong leadership skills and to be confident to work at all levels.
Experience at managing others – encouraging, creative, resilient – and will thrive in a busy production environment.
Proven ability to organise and manage multiple projects/programmes simultaneously; driving progress and ensuring deadlines are met and priorities clearly communicated.
Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands
Experience in leading contract negotiations and dealing with complex insurance and business affairs issues in accordance with policies and guidelines.
Strong negotiation skills, able to influence, manage and negotiate deals and contracts in line with policies and guidelines.
Experience in managing UK and international filming including dealing with numerous agencies including fixers, embassies, and other foreign agencies.
To be forward thinking with a positive outlook and demonstrate resilience in challenging situations.
An understanding and experience of delivering to third parties including rights and complex deliverables.
Experience of delivering efficiencies and continually reviewing working practices to ensure best practice and on screen value for money.
A thorough understanding of health and safety procedures.
