Modus are looking for a creative, highly experienced and motivated individual to work in our Somerset headquarters.
Applicants require experience of working with a very broad range of materials and manufacturing processes and must have excellent communication skills. Experience managing a small team is a must. A ‘can do’ attitude and energetic approach, ability to work under pressure and excellent organisational skills are prerequisites. Familiarity with furniture design and manufacturing is preferable.
Main responsibilities
research and development of products, processes and pricing
managing a small team
designing and developing products for both in house production and external manufacture
working on designs and production for bespoke items
engineering products
managing BOM’s, and rationalising inventory
managing QC and auditing suppliers
sourcing suppliers
packaging development
liaising with designers and engineers
Skills required
AutoCAD 2D
Adobe Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Inventor and or SolidWorks
Alpha CAD or BiesseWorks
Microsoft Office
understanding of engineering and construction
time management
project management
motivated/enthusiastic/energetic/‘can do’ attitude
excellent communication and people skills
outstanding attention to detail
ability to sketch and communicate ideas through drawings
