Executive Performance Director – British Curling – Scotland

Job Description
British Curling seeks an Executive Performance Director to lead the World Class Performance Programme to success at the 2022 Beijing Olympic & Paralympic Games.
Since 2002, British curlers have won five medals at the Winter Games (three Olympic and two Paralympic). Most famously Rhona Martin’s ‘stone of destiny’ sealed Team GB’s gold medal victory at Salt Lake City in 2002, while most recently British curlers placed fourth and fifth at the Winter Olympics and seventh at the Paralympics in PyeongChang. Since then, British Curling programme teams have won three more World and European medals. Your role will be to take our talented athletes and staff to the next level.

Your main priorities will be:
• To provide leadership, management and strategic direction for all aspects of the British Curling World Class Performance Programme (WCPP)
• Ensuring the delivery of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI´s) within the Strategic Plan.
• To maintain and continue to build on a well-established culture and climate that has evolved over successive quads, enabling the British Curling programme to achieve sustained success.
• Embedding and upholding the unique WCPP culture that drives consistency across training, competition and all other environments that ensures that British Curling continues to deliver a sustainable high performance environment.
• To enable coaches, athletes and support staff to further refine “What it Takes to Win” models and ensure that the models are understood and translated into the daily operating environment within the British Curling programme.
• Continually working with coaches and athletes to maximise the benefits of a world class National Curling Academy

How to apply
You will have:
• A background and recent experience of leading a team operating in elite sport at the highest level.
• A comprehensive understanding of coaching, sport science and medicine, international competition and performance pathways.
• Experience of working with multiple partners and stakeholders to achieve success including working with public funding agencies, international federations, sponsors and media.
A key requirement in this role will be the need to travel nationally and internationally to manage key relationships and ensure full support of coaches and athletes. Whilst the role is based in Stirling this role does have a significant international dimension.
