Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the medical department of Burnley Football Club to gain valuable experience of working with high calibre and developing athletes. We are looking for casual Physiotherapists to join our medical team to provide medical cover at weekday evening training/injury clinics and weekend matches for the U9-16 age groups.

You will join an existing group of part-time Physiotherapists on a training/games rota. This role will give you the opportunity to work in a Professional sporting environment, working alongside Physiotherapists, Sport Scientists, Coaches, Academy football players and their parents/carers to name a few.

You will be the medical lead when covering training, injury clinics and competitive matches, giving you a great opportunity to develop your autonomy, communication and clinical skills in a paediatric sport setting.

As part of this role we will provide you with regular in-service-training and the opportunity to work closely with the Sport Scientists and the full-time Physiotherapists in the assessment and management of injuries, and promoting injury prevention in this particular group of elite performers.

Successful candidates will be pro-active individuals with experience in neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy settings, up to date with current literature, understand their scope of practice, and seeking to develop their physiotherapy skills. You will also need to be flexible as this role requires evening and weekend work.

Candidate Specification

Essential:
Completed a BSc/MSc(Pre-Reg) Physiotherapy degree.
Be registered with the CSP and HCPC.
Candidates must hold adequate insurance with their professional body.
Post qualification experience (including working within a hospital setting) and experience in a neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy setting.
Current sports first aid qualification (IFAS or AREA).
Current FA safeguarding certificate
Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel independently, as required.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Desirable:
Previous experience of working within a paediatric elite football environment.
Previous experience of using the PMA computer system.
Experience of working in a sporting Multidisciplinary team
