Multimedia Content Editor – William Reed Business Media – Crawley

The Multimedia Content Editor is responsible for supporting the Editor with the production of the magazine and its associated brands, delivering multimedia content and covering for the Editor in his absence.

Primary responsibilities include:

Deliver top-quality business news for print and online
Manage the multimedia reporter’s news output
Deliver regular multimedia content, including online articles, video, infographics and podcast interviews
Deliver top-quality features for the magazine and online as required
Assist the editor in producing the magazine and its brands, on time, to the highest editorial standards and to agreed budgets
Assist the editor in sub-editing, editing and supervising the work of others as required.
Reporting to the editor, the multimedia content editor will represent the group externally at conferences, exhibitions and other events to raise the profile of the brand.
Bespoke F2F project responsibility

Secondary responsibilities include:

Contribute towards the commercial success of the brand
Some editorial event planning as needed
The job holder will work closely with the editor and publisher on extensions to British Baker, including awards, conferences, webinars and roundtables

Multimedia content editor key skills:

An accomplished journalist, ideally with some experience of desk management
First-class interviewing, news reporting, feature writing and editing skills
Strong organisational abilities
Dynamic and outgoing individual with strong interpersonal skills and the personality to represent the titles to the industry and advertising contacts
The ability to grasp complex business, financial, scientific and technical information quickly and to write and broadcast about them clearly and concisely
The ability to keep abreast of new developments – business, regulatory and technological – within the sector to ensure magazine content remains relevant to its readers and advertisers
He or she is expected to contribute towards the commercial success of the brand
Good proofreading skills
A track record of success in multimedia journalism – including video and podcast interviews – or the confidence and ability to acquire expertise in this area quickly
Web-savvy, with an appetite to harness the latest online technologies to make our content even stronger
A strong commercial sense
