Home based with extensive nationwide travel and occasional working from Swim England HQ in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Swim England is the national governing body for swimming in England.
We help people learn how to swim, enjoy the water, and compete in our sports of swimming, diving, water polo and synchronised swimming.
Swim England in partnership with Sport England (SE), British Swimming and Commonwealth Games England (CGE) is seeking to appoint a Team Leader for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (B2022). The Team Leader plays a vital role in the success of Team England at the Games. They will play a key role in connecting the activity of Swim England and British Swimming and will be an integral part of; the build-up to the Games in terms of information gathering, administration and communication; during the Games as the lead team member for the daily organisation and management of Swimming; and after the Games as a driver of the overall Swim England Aquatics and Team England evaluation.
This is only the third time that England has hosted the Commonwealth Games and you will be responsible for delivering the most successful England Swimming Team in Games history. The event will also be the British Swimming benchmark meet for the year, making it a key part of the Paris Olympic cycle for our swimmers. Your

role will include:
• Creating an inclusive and positive “One Team” environment and culture.
• Working collaboratively with Commonwealth Games England and British Swimming.
• Selecting and leading the swimmers and key support and coaching staff.
• Managing the England Team budget and preparing funding submissions and reports.
• Monitoring and reviewing the progress of the team before, during and after the games.

The successful candidate must have:
• Previous leadership experience in a multi-sport event environment.
• The ability to establish, maintain and nurture relationships with athletes, staff and key stakeholders.
• The ability to plan strategically towards ambitious goals within predefined timeframes.
• The ability to work under pressure and respond to unexpected situations.
• The ability to be a role model and uphold the key values of Swim England, Sport England and Commonwealth Games England.
