National Summer Games 2017 in Sheffield

This is the country’s largest multi-sports event for athletes with intellectual disabilities to be held in 2017. Around 2,600 athletes with intellectual disabilities of all ages and abilities will come together from across the country. They will be supported over 4 days of competition by 800 coaches , 750 volunteers , 150 officials and over 5,000 family & friends between 7 – 12 August 2017: http://sheffield2017.org.uk/about/

How can you get involved?
We are looking for a team of volunteer trainers to assist with the development and delivery of generic, role specific and venue orientation training to help our Games volunteers prepare for their role.
This will largely be a pre-Games role with training sessions being held mostly at evenings and weekends from end of April 2017- August 2017 in Sheffield. There is also an opportunity for Trainers to take up a role at Games time as part of the Volunteer support team.

About you
•Enthusiastic and confident presenter
•Great communicator
•Reliable
•Educational or training background
•Ability to work independently
•Based around the South Yorkshire area or able to travel to Sheffield
•An understanding of Intellectual Disability (desirable)
