Sheffield Football Trust independent trustee – Sheffield Football Trust

Job Description
This is a hugely exciting and unique opportunity to be part of the Board of Sheffield Football Trust; a charity responsible for supporting the strategic management of three grassroots football hubs in Sheffield. The new facilities have been developed through The Football Association, Sport England and Premier League’s revolutionary ‘Parklife’ programme in partnership with the Football Foundation along with Sheffield City Council. In addition, the SFT will support strategic partners in developing future plans for investment in football facilities in the Sheffield area.
The Parklife programme has the vision of creating multi-pitch artificial grass football hubs across England’s major towns and cities, where the need for good quality pitches is greatest, creating a passion and interest in football that lasts a lifetime.
The Sheffield Football Trust is now looking to appoint a minimum of two (2) Independent Trustees to the Board on a voluntary basis. The Trust is seeking individuals with extensive experience and knowledge gained in the areas of strategic planning for sport and expertise in using sport as a tool for inclusion and delivering wider social outcomes. The Trust is also seeking for one of the independent Trustees to become the Trust’s Chair.
It is expected that Trustees will be required to commit a minimum of six days each year to the Charity, including Board meetings and the AGM. At the Trust’s discretion, a dedicated resource will be available from the Football Foundation to help support with administrative tasks.
The Sheffield Football Trust is a registered Charity & Company Ltd by Guarantee. The mission of the Football Trust is to use the power of sport, in particular football, to promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing football and other sports, capable of improving health.
