Production / Workshop Manager – Wildercreative – East London

We are Wildercreative, a bespoke joinery company specialising in designing and delivering fitted furniture for high-end, residential products. Our design studios and workshop is based in London Fields, Hackney. We are a friendly team of approximately 15, who are design focused and enjoy a challenge.

The production manager is required to manage the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes of a busy joinery workshop. The successful candidate must ensure our projects and furniture are produced efficiently and at the right cost and level of quality. You will oversee the general production process, draw up production schedules as well as manage the pre-production requirements (ordering materials etc) and ensuring the whole production process is cost effective.

You will be the sole point of contact for the carpenters and workshop team, and will facilitate information being passed from studio to workshop. And as soon as a project becomes live, the operations manager will manage communications between external stakeholders too; clients, architects, other site sub-contractors, suppliers etc. It is crucial they can undertake this in a confident manner.

The production manager will supervise and motivate the production team and review staff performance. The ideal candidate will have a track record of production management in a similar joinery environment.

We have a very high standard of work and it will be your responsibility to ensure this quality is maintained.

Required skills:

previous joinery or furniture making industry experience. We do not expect the candidate’s carpentry levels to be as high as our carpenters, but it is crucial that they have an in depth understanding of how the furniture is produced
strong production management and production planning experience
experience managing supervising and motivating production teams under strict deadlines
good knowledge of computers and CAD is essential
full UK driving licence
very good organisational skills are imperative
long term commitment, and desire to grow with the company

Salary: basic salary from £30,000 to £40,000 per annum

Start date: ASAP, but we will wait for the right candidate
