Product Administrator – Balineum – London

We are passionate about beautiful bathrooms, so much so that we named ourselves after the Latin word for bathhouse. We offer our customers a carefully curated collection of bathroom furnishings and furniture.

Balineum launched in November 2007 selling online fabric shower curtains and liners. Through word of mouth and PR, our sales have grown steadily since. Our product range continues to expand offering all the elements our customers need when decorating or renovating their bathrooms.

Our customers are both individuals and interior designers.

Background to appointment:

Balineum operates from a home-office in Hampstead NW3. This office is supported by a team of freelancers, suppliers and advisors located all around the world.

Due to the continued growth of the business, the business is now looking for a product administrator to manage all the administration around our growing product range.

The role will require the successful candidate to work from Balineum’s home office in NW3. It is expected to be a full-time role but there can be some flexibility depending on the right candidate, but it will be a minimum of three days per week working in NW3.

Overall responsibilities:

Responsible for all new and existing product related administration. This includes: working on new product development with suppliers, setting up all data for new products, maintaining accurate product information in our website and accounts software, and assisting in supplier re-orders. It covers a range of product categories: bathroom linens, furniture, tiles & surfaces, washstands and lighting and requires liaising with suppliers based all around the world.

Specific functional responsibilities:

New product launches

liaise with suppliers for product samples and all required product information
set up new products in Balineum’s product database: this includes setting up product codes, assigning barcodes, recording cost and selling prices for every SKU/variant: it is a substantial amount of data entry and requires systematic, attention to detail
import all data for new products into Balineum accounts software, warehouse system, and website
organise all required samples for photography and photography shot lists
arrange CAD drawings or other drawings as needed for website and sales staff - set up all new products and photography in our website and our accounts

On-going product management

help maintain accurate product information and data on the website (including stock levels) and in our accounts software
assist in calculating and coordinating product re-orders and provide suppliers with all required information and components
stock location management – keeping accurate records of stock levels in different locations and arranging stock for press loans

Custom product management

coordinate and track quotes, drawings and deliveries for custom products between our sales team and suppliers

Website management

responsible for all product content and photography on the website

Necessary personal characteristics:

you must be extremely comfortable using Excel spread sheets and have an understanding of databases
the role requires someone who has excellent attention to detail and is exceptionally organised. A very large part of the role is data set-up and on-going management – so you must be methodical in your approach to tasks
happy to work independently and manage own time
highly numerate
an interest in interior design and product design
openness and enthusiasm to work with suppliers based all around the world, many of who only speak English as a second language

Essential experience:

Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Microsoft Excel. Experience with data entry and management.

Desirable experience:

An Italian speaker would be preferred. Experience working within a retail company in a product administration role.

part-time or full-time position with three month probationary period
