Primary School Sports Coach – APB Sports Group

Job Description
APB Sports are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, responsible and reliable casual Sports coaches to join our rapidly growing coaching team to work within our partner primary schools.
Our coaching team is responsible for all aspects of physical education delivery in line with the national P.E curriculum for primary schools including EYFS, PPA cover, interventions and our niche education programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a wide variety of curriculum based and extra-curricular provisions.
Contract: An exciting opportunity for a PE specialist to join APB Sports on a casual contract, typically delivering during the school day on a term time only basis. Further opportunities are available to work at our SPORTS Academy during the evening, as well as on our ‘Sports and Activities Holiday Camps’ dependant on experience and availability.

Essential Requirements:
– Enhanced DBS (CRB) certificate (to complete practical assessment).
– 1 x Level 2 SPORTS Qualification (or equivalent).
– First Aid Qualification (within the last 2 years).
– Safeguarding Certificate (within the last 12 months).
– Minimum of 12 months experience delivering curriculum based Primary School P.E to children aged 4-11 years old.

Desirable Requirements:
– 1 x NGB Level 2 Coaching Qualification.
– Experience of delivering in a classroom environment.
– Experience of using behaviour management strategies when delivering sports.
– Achieved or working towards a Level 3 in Primary School PE/Sport.
– Degree (or working towards) in Sports Coaching or any other sport related degree.

When will the role start?
This role will start in September 2020 (based on the schools being open given the outbreak of COVID-19)
Will I be PAYE or Self Employed?
All APB staff are classed a freelancers therefore you will be classed as self employed.
How long is the agreement?
The agreement will be agreed and signed at the start of employment and will be reviewed 1 month before the end of the term.
Will I have to sign a temporary agreement?
APB have a coach agreement that protects both parties and prevents any sudden change that would effect any business dealings with APB. There is a notice period that needs to be served.

How many hours a week will I be able to work?
The hours will be indicated in the job description, these hours will be a minimum and in some cases change depending on circumstances.
Will I have to teach Key stage 1 and Key Stage 2?
Both KS1 and KS2 are taught by APB and depending on the contract at that particular school will depend on what years are taught, we suggest that both Key stages will be taught.
Is a car needed in order to fulfill this role?
Yes. The successful candidate will need to be driving in order to get to sessions.
Is there possibility to progress through the company?
Yes, we are always looking to offer more responsibility within our APB Sports including leading a team of coaches/teachers.
Would there be a potential wage rise?
Yes, we run an initial 3 month appraisal and indicate when and how will look to wage raise based on success rates.
