WHY THIS ROLE?
We’re introducing this exciting role to lead all strategic activity associated with the identification of players to ensure the right quantity and quality of players are selected onto the England Women’s Cricket Pathway and into the England Women’s team.

YOU’LL BE DOING
Developing and rolling out the ECB’s Player Identification strategy for the England Cricket Women’s Pathway (EWCP) establishing best practice for women’s cricket
Developing selection processes, underpinned by best practice, and specific to the needs of the women’s game
Identifying, leading and managing a team of scouts and information providers to deliver world-leading scouting processes that inform selection
Developing effective data analysis processes that support selection decision-making and ensuring that impactful information is made easily accessible to selectors and coaches
Supporting and informing the selection of all EWCP teams and ensuring that precise focus is placed on meeting England Women’s short, medium and long-term needs
Working with coaches and science and medicine staff to assess on-programme player development and readiness and ensuring the effective management of player profiles
Engaging Regional Teams and Counties in the process of nominating, monitoring and reporting of players
Utilising research findings to develop innovative talent identification and confirmation methods
Supporting Regional Teams and Counties with the development of their player recruitment strategy, systems and processes, ensuring that they are broadening the size and quality of their talent pool
Implementing and continually evolving digital systems that enables the efficient sharing of information across the New Regional Domestic Structure, County Talent Pathway and England teams
Researching and developing best practice within the areas of talent identification and development and sharing insight with the wider game and through the coach development pathway
Working closely with the men’s pathway Player ID Lead to drive the implementation of digital systems and continuously develop expertise within Player ID and Development
Ensuring the timely management of budget and finances for all Player Identification activity

YOU’LL HAVE
A proven track record of leading high-performance teams
Demonstrable expertise in the areas of talent identification and development
Extensive experience of best practice scouting and selection processes
A strong understanding of data analytics
The ability to effectively communicate and present information using a wide range of engaging methods
The skills to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Excellent knowledge and understanding of coaching and sports science and medicine, preferably within the elite cricket domain
