Office Manager – ACME – London

ACME are looking for an experienced office manager to support our growing creative team based in Shoreditch, London.

ACME is an international practice operating from London and Berlin in the fields of contemporary architecture, urban planning, interior and product design, working with private, corporate and public clients.

We are seeking a strong practice manager who will take responsibility in leading and developing the administration side of the office, the management of the premises, HR, and the administrative and financial support.

The position involves a broad range of administrative roles to ensure the smooth and professional running of an office of 60 architectural designers, with the support of an administrative assistant, accountant and the PA to the director. We are a young office, with a diverse, international staff and with a varied range of projects. We are looking for someone who is a natural organiser, with excellent time management skills, who can prioritise a wide range of tasks, act on their own initiative is good at dealing with people and possesses strong inter-personal skills to organises our working life, chair management meetings, help us to look after our office space and our staff, organise our parties, and generally deal with all things arising which are not architectural.

We are keen to hear from you if you are an experienced office manager with an interest in architecture/design/art, a good organiser and an excellent communicator.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate many of the following attributes:

excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
a number of years experience in an administrative position in a similar-sized organisation, with responsibility for finance, HR and office management – previous experience working in creative industries preferred
a high degree of proficiency in the use of Excel and Word, additional knowledge of InDesign would be an advantage, accounting software
the ability to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
the ability to monitor and control budgets and obtain best value for money
professional conduct in the handling of confidential or sensitive information
excellent interpersonal skills
the ability to research, collate and communicate complex information in a simple way, for example in matters concerning pensions, work permits or other questions that may arise
