Job Description
Burnley FC in the Community continues to embark on an exciting new chapter in its commitment to serving Burnley and the surrounding areas. The club’s official charity is now looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated individual to the full time role of Health and Wellbeing Officer. The role will involve co-ordinating and delivering a range of health related community activities.

As part of this role you will be expected to oversee the successful delivery of a comprehensive Health and Wellbeing programme funded by the Premier League, the Professional Footballers Association and Lancashire County Council.

The ideal candidate will have;
• A degree/HND in a relevant subject such as health, sport or community development
• Experience of working with either young people or adults in a health related environment
• Experience of promoting health and physical activity programmes
• An appetite for using sport and physical activity to have a positive effect on people’s lives
• Proven experience of providing excellent customer experience

The key purpose of this role is to utilise the power of Burnley FC and football to engage and encourage individuals to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle. The role will include working with our Health and Wellbeing Manager to implement a range of health initiatives including health checks, a healthy lifestyles marketing campaign, a men’s weight management programme, a mental health sports programme, a healthy eating schools programme and provision for senior citizens. The successful candidate will be expected to work with appropriate part time staff and volunteers to support with the delivery of the programme and will be responsible for the administrative and all monitoring aspects of the programme.

Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work some evenings and weekends. You will require a full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle. This position is for a fixed term period until 31st March 2017 with the potential of it being extended, pending further funding being confirmed.
