General Manager – Reading Football Club Women’s Team

Job Description
Job Purpose:
The General Manager has responsibility for the commercial development and professional day-to-day management of the Football Association Women’s Super League Club, its staff, and budgets

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
– to manage relationships and services provided by the Club to key partners e.g. men’s football clubs/education partners
– to be the FA’s primary contact for all league business and meetings, in particular: commercial, finance, broadcast, facility, and fixture related issues
– to develop key relationships with funding partners to ensure Club sustainability, working with other members of the Club’s senior management team and directors to achieve this in line with the Club business/development plan
– to attend all FA WSL league meetings
– to be responsible for fixture planning and subsequent management (through the Women’s Club secretary if relevant) to deliver against the Club’s plan for fixtures and events, marketing, match day promotion
– to manage all staff relationships to ensure effective recruitment, day-to-day management and delivery of all work plans to agreed targets, in particular marketing, match day promotion, and attendance targets
– to support the coaching / senior management team with player recruitment, contracting, registration, and associated salary management (through the Women’s Club secretary if relevant)
– to be responsible for day-to-day club budget management
– to be responsible for meeting the Club licence requirements
– to be responsible for reporting on the Club Development Fund and presenting evidence required to release funding
– to adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation
– to be presentable at all times when working and demonstrate that you can represent the face of the Club in the manner expected
– to maintain Reading Football Club’s Safeguarding (Child Protection), Health, Safety, and Equal Opportunity procedures and practice

Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
– an interest and knowledge in Women’s Football and enthusiastic about developing Women’s Football at this exciting time
– experience in a general business/management role and ideally within a sports club/development environment
– experience of 3rd party funding and staff management
– experience of commercial/business management, ideally within a semi-professional sports related environment
