Premier League BAME AND FEMALE Coach Initiative (Category 1 and Premier League Academy)

The Premier League is working with academies to produce more and better home grown players and a key pillar of that vision is to create a world leading coaching fraternity. To achieve the coaching and coach development goals of the Premier League, we are working with clubs to recruit talent into the academies from across the diverse population of the UK.

The Premier League BAME and Female Coach Initiative commenced in 2015 with the aim of recruiting coaches from the BAME and Female population who have the talent to work in Category 1 Academies in Football.

We are starting recruitment now for the 2017 scheme and this advert is a call for applications.

If you meet the criteria you will be applying to be part of the scheme. If you are successful at Stage 1 of application, you will be endorsed by Premier League for the scheme but you MUST then complete Stage 2. Stage 2 requires you to find employment in a Category 1 Club before you are successful on the scheme and can take up your place for the next 4 years.

The Premier League supports the scheme by a) Funding half the salary for a coach (min £30k p a) for a 4-year period (the other 50% is funded by the club) and fully funding the costs for the successful candidate on the Coach Development Scheme called ECAS.

Stage 1 of your application is to be endorsed as a suitable candidate by the Premier League.

Stage 2 of your application is to work with the Premier League to find a suitable Category 1 or Premier League Club who wishes to employ you.

Successful candidates will ultimately have a 4-year contract of employment as a coach with a Category 1 or Premier League Academy with a minimum salary of £30,000 pa.
For the first two years, the successful candidate will also enrol on an intense coach development programme called ECAS, Elite Coach Development Scheme, which provides workshops and mentoring to develop them as coaches.

We are looking for a minimum of 6 places on the scheme for the 2017-18 season.

Criteria for application
Essential:
• BAME or Female Coach
• UEFA – B licence
• Min 3 years’ experience in football coaching (PT or FT)
• FA Youth award
• Not currently employed full-time in a Category 1 or Premier League Club as a coach

Desirable
• UEFA A licence
• FA Advanced Youth award
• Degree level qualification In Coaching or relevant subject
• Experience of coaching Youth Football
• Knowledge of EPPP
